Illume.Plus

Management consultancy that focuses on strategy and insight

About

Illume generates insight.

  • Insight is what differentiates one company or brand from another.

  • Insight is what leads to competitive advantage.

  • Insight is also how you make sure you're delighting your customers.

Ultimately, insight drives growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.

The lack of insight leaves a company directionless. Doing what they've always done - or operating purely on gut-feel. Too often it leads to stagnation or expensive missteps

Yet organisations have an almost bewildering range of data sources at their disposal - each one a potential source of Insight.

Examples include:

  • Customer database information

  • Sales data

  • Survey data

  • Retail audit data

  • Customer panel data

  • Margin and cost of sales data

  • Management surveys

  • Production data

  • Market research

  • Digital data

  • Personality and team measures

  • Website ratings

  • ... and so on

No lack of data then.

But...

How does data generate Insight?

It starts with analysis.

Companies often have specialised analysts - mostly in the Financial, Production or Digital teams. Too often, these analyses become the generation of standard reports - with few insights beyond "Sales are down in..." or "Cost of Sales are up in...".

In other areas of the business, there are no Analysts - junior members of the Sales teams or Marketing teams are somehow meant to have the skills, and to do it from the side of a desk.

Everyone thinks they can do Customer Research because they have Survey Monkey. Generating as often as not flawed or trivial research - saving a few pounds - but not generating the insight that could deliver a hundred or a thousand times the benefit.

Insight requires analytical and research excellence.

And that's where we come in.

We can work with organisations in any industry, of any nature, size or geography.

How do we do it?

  • By first understanding something of the nature, aims and challenges of the organisation

  • Sourcing the data that experience tells us could help - whether that's existing data or sourcing new data (eg Surveys and Research)

  • Synthesising and then analysing that data to generate insight

  • Presenting the insight in a form that is easily assimilated

  • Working with management teams on how to exploit those insights - often through Strategy workshops or Creative workshops

We would be happy to discuss how we might be able to help you.
